Toucan Blue  is a beautiful four bedroom beach house located 20 kilometers east of the Roatan International airport.  Enjoy the stunning views from the rooms of this vacation home or from the extended living area ceramic deck overlooking the Caribbean sea and barrier reef.

 Toucan Blue is perfect for divers, snorkelers, family, or friends.  It is an awesome property for anyone that appreciates natural beauty and the tranquility of having the sea at your doorstep and the barrier reef within sight and easy access.  

For divers, a nearby dive shop is located at Turquoise Bay Resort and you may be able to make arrangements to be picked up at the community dock located immediately in front of Toucan Blue.

The crystal clear Caribbean water is just steps from the front door and the spectacular barrier reef is easily accessible for snorkeling or diving.  Enjoy the stunning view while relaxing on the deck, paddle to the barrier reef in the provided sea kayaks, stroll the white sand beach, view sea life from the dock, gently swing in one of the hammocks, or lounge at the community pool located behind the house.


Roatan, one of the Bay Islands of Honduras, is noted as "The Way the Caribbean Used to Be" in the book 1,000 Places to See Before You Die by Patricia Schultz.  For years it was known mostly by divers for the exquisite diving adventure around the barrier reef. The improved infrastructure on the island now brings growing tourism and cruise ship passengers.  English is the main language of the island and US currency is accepted.

The modern international airport welcomes direct flights from the US on Continental and Delta airlines, with many more flights that connect through cities such as La Ceiba and San Pedro Sula on the mainland.   You will be met upon arrival at the airport and escorted to the house.  There will be a welcome packet with a brief description of the activities the island has to offer.  You will also be provided with light snacks for that evening and breakfast the following morning.   

Island attractions include canopy tours, botanical gardens, and water sports of all kinds.  Roatan is a diver's paradise, but you can also snorkel, swim with dolphins, kayak ... or just relax.  Enjoy views of the crystal clear water in various shades of blue and the lush green hills from overlook vistas.

You will have access to a cell phone at the house for local calls and the property managers are nearby for any questions during your stay.

 

The large outdoor deck is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquil setting.  It is the likely place for dining after preparing dinner on the barbeque grill.  It is also a great place to take advantage of listening to the soft waves breaking against the reef and gazing at the star filled sky at night.

 

The bright, open main floor of the house includes the living area, kitchen, dining, bathroom, and deck.  The stereo has indoor and outdoor speakers for your listening pleasure while in the house or on the deck.  There is a TV and VCR/DVD player for those times that you want to be indoors, and you can keep in touch with others using the wireless internet connection.  Ceiling fans and air conditioning are throughout the house.

 

Three of the bedrooms are on the lower floor and one bedroom overlooks the large tiled deck.  The bathroom between two of the bedrooms has a Jacuzzi tub with shower.  The other two bedrooms have bathrooms with tiled showers.  The front  lower level bedrooms have large picture windows with a breathtaking view of the sea.  See the House Description link for several pictures of the home.
